April 5, 2008 —
We were LIVE at the FIRST annual Houston Green Expo: Sustainable Energy and Green Building Consumer Event. It was free to the public and over 10,000 people came to learn about innovative solutions for building green and living green in hot and humid climates. The Houston Green Expo was the FIRST in the NATION where all products & materials exhibited had to meet specific Green Guidelines. Listen now and learn more.
Part 1 — Apr 05, 2008, 3:00 to 3:30 PM
We kick the show off with Brian Malarkey, AIA, LEED® AP, IIDA, who is the Executive Vice President of Kirksey Architects & Director of Eco-Services. Brian is also the President of AIA in Houston. We talked about the importance of this event and what it means to our lives. We also talked to Lynda M. Kornbleet who is the founder & President of Pay Less Insulation about saving energy and resources.

Part 2 — Apr 05, 2008, 3:30 to 4:00 PM
Mayor Bill White from the City of Houston joined our show once again. We talked about this monumental and historic event and what it means to the citizens of this region.
Dr. Cris Eugster, Ph.D., LEED® AP, Chief Officer for Sustainable Growth for City of Houston's Mayor's Office talked about how important the entire green living concept is to growth for the region and how impressed he is with the Houston citizens' enthusiasm for embracing it.

We next had the pleasure of talking to Tom Hunter, AIA, LEED® AP. Tom is with Worley Parsons in Houston and is co-chair of the AIA Houston Committee on the Environment. We are fortunate to gain from his experience and vision.
Water & energy conservation are key components to going green, so we talked to Sean Giuliani with Jarrell Plumbing, a Direct Energy Company. We discussed how everyone can save water and energy.

We wrapped things up with Steve Stelzer, AIA, LEED® AP, who is Program Director of the Green Building Resource Center for the City of Houston; Lora-Marie Bernard the Executive Director of USGBC, Houston Chapter and Adele Houghton, AIA, LEED® AP, founder of the Green Guide for Health Care and Chair of Gulf Coast Green/Houston Green Expo.

Another great show about Green Building. Our special guest in the first hour was Steve Stelzer AIA, LEED AP. Steve is the newly appointed Program Director for the City of Houston's new Green Building Resource Center. We talk about how Mr. Stelzer and this excellent new resource center will help Houston build green as efficiently and quickly as possible.
In the second hour we talked to Michael Strong, builder of the first L.E.E.D. Gold Home in Texas, which is right here in Houston. Michael Strong, GMB, CAPS is the co-owner of GreenHaus Builders and Brothers Strong.
